THE YOUNG CENTER FOR IMMIGRANT CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

Won't someone please think of the children? Alright. I ask that you join me in donating to The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights.

My wife and I wake up every morning and care for our kids. We get them dressed, bring them food, and attempt to make their days fulfilling and meaningful while keeping them safe. Every child deserves the right to have someone there to help them through life.

The kids that The Young Center help come to America for many reasons—political upheaval, extreme poverty, child labor, abusive homes, or just searching for their family. From where many of us sit, it's difficult to believe that this actually happens. But it absolutely does. And regardless of the circumstances, these kids need our help.

The Young Center provides legal guardians for trafficking victims and unaccompanied immigrant children who, in most cases, must navigate the immigration system alone, without an attorney or any other adult to help them.

The Young Center Child Advocates speak the children’s languages and often share the same cultural background, creating meaningful ties with each child while advocating for his or her rights so that no matter what happens—whether they remain in the US or return to their home country—their safety is ensured.

I humbly ask that you donate with me to support this organization.  We must treat the most vulnerable among us with love and guide them away from harm. Let's help these kids however we can.

Thanks.

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IF WE COULD CONSIDER EACH OTHER

A NEIGHBOR, A FRIEND, OR A BROTHER

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL WORLD

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IF EACH LITTLE KID HAD ENOUGH MILK EACH DAY

IF EACH WORKING MAN HAD ENOUGH TIME TO PLAY

IF EACH HOMELESS SOUL HAD A GOOD PLACE TO STAY

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IF THERE WERE NO POOR AND THE RICH WERE CONTENT

IF STRANGERS WERE WELCOME WHEREVER THEY WENT

IF EACH OF US KNEW WHAT TRUE BROTHERHOOD MEANT

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IT COULD BE A WONDERFUL WORLD

IF WE COULD CONSIDER EACH OTHER

A NEIGHBOR, A FRIEND, OR A BROTHER

THE ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE

Today’s organization is

The Anti-Defamation League

There are people out there who do not believe that we are all created equal, that each of our lives are important to the same degree. Perhaps they’re afraid of what they don’t understand. Perhaps they are angry about something and feel the need to direct that anger at another group of people. Whatever the case, we cannot allow for the profileration of hatred. If humanity is going to survive, we must continue to demonstrate that love and kindness make our shared existence worth living. We must fight against discrimination however we can in order to bring about equality for everyone, everywhere.

The Anti-Defamation League fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry in the U.S. and abroad through information, education, legislation, and advocacy, serving as a resource for government, media, law enforcement, educators, and the public. In addition to combatting hate crimes and hate on the Internet, the ADL also advocates for immigration reform, expanding LGBT rights, advancing women’s equality, and much more.

Even if you can only donate $1, please consider supporting the Anti-Defamation League so they can continue to battle against hate and discrimination, wherever it may be. And like I said before, if you can’t afford to give, please just go out and do something that makes the world a better place.

Let us not give up hope.

DEMO 11.23.2006 7:58am

Unless I've forgotten something, this was my first foray into string arrangements using virtual instruments. As you'll undoubtedly discover, it's very remedial. One day it would be nice to return to school to attain a more classic musical education. I suspect it would not only provide a wealth of knowledge, but augment my adeptness at composition overall. Thanks for listening.

Here's Prague 15.

The folder says this idea originated in October 2006, but the earliest file I have is from February 2009. There's no way of knowing what changes may have happened between that time since I was still dumb enough not to number my sessions. As I may have mentioned, the dates and times listed above in the titles for each post refer to the moment when the file was first created, even though the files are always from a later date when I had made some actual progress.

Blah Blah Blah.

This was the idea that led to Weights & Measures, the second track off By The Numbers.

Thanks for listening.
