Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Dustin Edge picked up his first guitar when he was twelve, an old acoustic his father had brought home from a yard sale. He performed in a myriad of local punk rock bands in high school before moving to North Carolina to attend college, where he helped form Americana outfit Cast Iron Filter, releasing five full-length albums while touring almost constantly for over five years.
After the band's breakup in 2004, he moved to the Czech Republic to teach English, spending his spare time writing lyrics in local coffeehouses and playing a weekly show in a local pub, all while working toward releasing his first solo album in 2007. After moving to NYC in 2008, he spent two years working as a copy editor while recording and releasing a pair of new rock-oriented EPs, after which he moved yet again to Boulder, CO, where he shifted gears to release four new EPs of up-tempo electronica. Following his five-year stint in Colorado, he finally moved home to Louisville in 2015, continuing his prolific output with two full-length albums, five more EPs, and a multitude of singles.
Dustin Edge continues to explore and expand the frontiers of traditional rock, folk, and electronic music, bringing an energy to the stage that is dynamic, exuberant, and most certainly engaging. In addition to performing live, he is currently writing and recording new material for an upcoming release in 2024.
